If it is a common ‌ three-phase asynchronous motor, it can be used in conjunction with a ‌ frequency converter, but the following points should be noted:

Confirmation of motor type

It is necessary to clarify whether the motor is a ‌ variable frequency dedicated motor. 

Ordinary motors are prone to overheating when operating at low speeds for a long time. 

It is necessary to ensure the heat dissipation conditions or select variable frequency motors.

 (for ordinary three-phase asynchronous motors connected to variable frequency drives, the frequency adjustment range is 30-50Hz). ‌

Wiring and grounding

Wire strictly in accordance with the manual, ensure that the ‌ frequency converter is reliably grounded (grounding resistance ≤2mm² wire, length ≤20m), and avoid ‌ radio frequency interference. ‌

The signal line uses ‌ shielded cable, with the shielding layer grounded at one end. ‌

Electrical environment

Avoid installing ‌ capacitors on the ‌ incoming line side or the ‌ motor side to prevent ‌ overcurrent from damaging the frequency converter. ‌

When the three-phase voltage unbalance degree is greater than 3%, a ‌ reactor needs to be installed. ‌

Operating parameter Settings

Adjust the acceleration and deceleration time of ‌. For heavy-duty equipment, it is recommended to extend it to more than 10 seconds to avoid the impact of ‌ current. ‌

Set the ‌ jump frequency to avoid the mechanical resonance point. ‌

Thermal protection and maintenance

Check the insulation resistance of the ‌ motor (≥5MΩ), which needs to be measured for the first use or after a long period of inactivity. ‌

When the ambient temperature is ≤40℃, the ventilation openings should be cleaned regularly. ‌

Special working condition handling

A ‌ braking resistor should be configured for frequent start-stop of ‌ or ‌ load lifting to prevent ‌ overvoltage. ‌

 In the free stop mode,the braking signal must lag behind the stop command of the frequency converter. ‌

If the motor is of ‌ or other types, further confirmation of inverter compatibility is required.
