For wastewater or waste water containing mud or sand, many pump manufacturers will be at a loss. However, for ATACH Industrial Pumps, this is all based on their accumulated experience over many years.

For a single-stage single-suction centrifugal pump, the main difficulties in dealing with sewage and sand lie in the following aspects:

1.If the flow components are made of conventional stainless steel, they will be prone to wear. Therefore, we recommend using duplex steel, such as 2205 or 2507 duplex steel.

2. In terms of the structure of the impeller, the conventional closed impeller is likely to cause blockage. Therefore, we suggest using a semi-open impeller structure.

3. In the field of mechanical seals, the ordinary graphite material cannot meet the requirements for high wear resistance of sand. Therefore, we recommend using tungsten carbide on the contact surface of silicon carbide, along with an external circulating water flushing scheme to prevent sand from accumulating on the contact surface of the sealing face and causing continuous abrasion.
