The selection is as follows:

1) Horizontal type. For irrigation, a horizontal inline pump is generally more suitable as it can accommodate a certain degree of suction height. Vertical pumps have almost no suction height, which is not very in line with the installation requirements for irrigation sites. Moreover, irrigation generally does not have strict requirements for the installation site. The horizontal pumps are delivered and installed relatively smoothly.

2) Material: Generally speaking, cast iron can be used for irrigation purposes. However, some customers need to consider maintenance-free features and prevent the possibility of the impeller getting rusted and stuck due to prolonged non-operation. In such cases, stainless steel can be selected. Alternatively, the pump casing can be made of cast iron, while the impeller and the shaft can be made of stainless steel.
